The art of enjoying life I Making the most of your time on planet earth

What are you living for?

What are your goals, what do you want to achieve?

What are you striving to do with your life?

What are you looking for?

What sets your soul on fire?

When are you truly enjoying life… ?

Current thoughts on life…

Here’s something I have been thinking about a lot the last couple of weeks…
‘Survival is not the same as living. Smiling is not the same as laughing your heart out. Thinking is not the same as having a deep conversation. Listening is not the same as really caring. Words are nothing if they are not spoken, and feelings are doomed to be erased if they are not expressed at the right time. Timing is so important. Sometimes we are afraid of taking that extra step that takes us from what is ordinary to what is extraordinary, that extra step towards really being happy, because
happiness seems just too good to be true. It seems to far away to dream of. It seems to hard to get.’

But what’s the point of realizing the extraordinary if you don’t go for it?

There is nothing wrong with what’s ordinary, but if extraordinary chances come your way, let the happiness that your heart desires extend out and reach for them. I don’t want to look back on my life 60 years from now and think ‘well my life was quite good, but also pretty ordinary.’
I wanna live a life full of adventures, I wanna take chances, I wanna say yes more often and make the most out of this life.
Whatever your dreams are, go and chase them NOW. Whatever your goals are, go and work hard for them NOW.
Whatever your plans are, just make them happen NOW.

I wanna be a doer, and if I’m lucky enough, I’m gonna be part of a positive change on this planet.

Since I started my own business in December last year, I have honestly been working non-stop whilst also writing my last 5 exams and my 280 pages bachelor thesis. Sounds a bit craycray?
It surely was, but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way since it taught me so much about time management, prioritizing and self-care. Being done with my thesis still feels a bit weird after working on it for 4 months non-stop (feels like a relationship that ended tbh lol, is this what ppl go through when they experience a break-up?). I am currently in the process of building a proper new routine that aligns with my self-employed girlboss lifestyle whilst at the same time learning (or rather, forcing myself) to slow down every now and then. If you are anything like me, you might know that it’s not always easy to just say ‘I’m done for today’ if there are a billion things you have and/ or want to work on. We so quickly tend to put everything else, including time spent in nature or seeing friends, aside just to ‘get this one thing done’ and THEN we’ll be ready to enjoy our life. There is plenty of time, right? We can still enjoy live when we are older…
What the heck?!

We shouldn’t postpone to live our lives to the fullest at some random point in our future.

At this very moment in life, I feel so, so grateful. For every single stage that I have entered and gone through in my past.
The good as well as the hard times.
I grew so much, learned lots of lessons, developed my skills and got to know myself even more.
Writing this thesis has taught me so much more than just writing a frigging paper.
I have grown SO MUCH throughout this whole entire process.
I learned to ask for help when I really need it, I once again realized how much I can count on my friends (still can’t grasp the support I received by them in the past couple of weeks!), I learned to manage my time and set straight priorities, I learned to make compromises and ultimately, to let go of control. To stop pushing and instead, just
going with the flow.

Looking back, we never regret the things that added richness to our lives, do we? Yet sometimes, it’s so hard to actually take that step and decide to do something for yourself. After finishing all my exams, I just felt pulled to finally spend some precious time with friends again. So that’s exactly what I did. I visited a couple of cities, reconnected with people I have been missing so much and although it would set me back in regards to my thesis schedule, I knew this would be worth it.

Sometimes, you just gotta enjoy life before it’s too late.

Enjoying life more often …

So I did. My friend and I got invited to stay at the Lifestyle Hotel Sand which is located at Timmendorfer Strand (Germany) at the end of May for 2 days.

I always thought that going on holiday in your own country isn’t really as enjoyable as traveling abroad, but that’s simply not the truth. It’s different, it’s relaxing, it’s beautiful. I have never been there before and we were so lucky with the weather! There are more and more eco-friendly hotels popping up in Germany and this one is the first at the Ostsee. I had just finished all my exams for my study course in Media Communication and Journalism a couple of days before we went there and this trip was the perfect little get-away to spend some relaxing down-time.

This weekend has been all about recharging mind, body and soul. By sleeping in, riding eco-friendly bamboo bikes along the beach promenade, soaking up sunshine, eating delicious fruit and having morning dance sessions on our huge balcony with an ocean-view. Yep, the view surely was incredible. Falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to those colors in the morning has been something we truly enjoyed.

Afternoons spent sipping on soy milk lattes

The private beach chair of the hotel you could also sleep in

Funny side story: When we were riding along the beach as well as through the small city on our bikes, people always stopped and asked us what these bikes were made out of . So they are not only eco-friendly and made out of sustainable materials &  renewable resources, but also eye-catchers. 😉

We got up early and had our morning workout sessions even though on holiday – running along the beach promenade, feeling the ocean breeze on our faces and sharing stories just made me so happy. Enjoying life to the fullest, every second of it.

The kitchen chef treated us to a 3-course vegan dinner on both nights and it tasted incredible. All ingredients have been local and organic. They don’t have a special vegan menu but are very open when it comes to food preferences, intolerances etc. I can highly suggest you writing an email beforehand with your dietary needs so they can prepare for your stay. In the mornings we even got soy yoghurt and soy milk cappuccinos which was definitely a plus! 🙂

This weekend has taught me so many things. So often, we tend to be consumed by a billion things on our to-do-lists waiting to be crossed off and we feel like there’s just no time for anything that would bring us joy… because it would be a ‘waste of time’ when there are so many things on your list to be taken care of, right? Believe me when I tell you that it’s not.
This stuff is what makes you feel alive and adds so much value to your limited amount of time on this planet. Take care of yourself. Prioritize self-care, me-time, creativity, enough rest + sleep, daily movement, precious time spent with loved ones. Making memories. Traveling. Being mindful. Getting to know yourself. Going outside into nature and exploring the beauty of Mother Nature. Reconnecting to our source.

Give me huge soy lattes and I’m a happy girl

/ Our stay at the Sand Hotel has been complimentary, meaning we didn’t pay for anything except for public transportation in order to get there. Yet, all opinions expressed are unbiased and my own. We genuinely enjoyed our stay at this hotel and felt home and welcomed from the first minute we walked in. If you want to book your stay at this hotel, feel free to visit the website of the travel agency we traveled with, GreenPearls. They are specialized in finding unique eco-friendly travel places and only feature hotels that align with their values + hit their sustainability standards. I love supporting brands and companies with an ethical, sustainable approach so that’s why I decided to work with them. I think that this is the future of traveling in order to have impact this world in a positive way and take care out this planet we are lucky enough to call our home. /

/ For our workshop, we have partnered up with Bikini Berlin, Casall and SoulZen as our sponsors. /

    1. Vielen lieben Dank, Josi! Das bedeutet mir so so arg viel! <3
      Fühl dich umarmt xoxo

  3. Wow, had no idea Germany had such a beautiful, aqua coastline. Thanks for the recommendation… and best wishes with your new journey 🙏🏽✨

    1. Yeah right, it’s so easy to forget about what’s so close to you! And it’s way more environmental friendly to travel this way!
And thank you so so much for all your lovely wishes, I am wishing you the same <3
